A new version of CCleaner was officially released this morning, bringing a set of improvements specifically aimed at Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Opera browser users.

First of all, CCleaner 5.16 includes improved Microsoft Edge temporary files cleaning, so in case you are using the default Windows 10 browser, the app now helps you get rid of any leftovers that might remain on your computer after closing the app. This is particularly important on PCs where Edge is the default browser and the amount of storage is quite limited.

At the same time, today’s update also brings improved Google Chrome cleaning, with support for IndexedDB, Quote Manager DB and Service Worker cache, but also updates for the browser’s plug-in management. Opera users receive GPU and application cache cleaning.

And last but not least, the same CCleaner version also features improved keyboard navigation, updates for various translations, as well as a number of undisclosed bug fixes and GUI improvements.

CCleaner continues to be one of the best apps that can keep your computer in tip-top shape, so no matter the Windows version currently powering your computer, this app is clearly worth a try if you notice any slowdown in performance. Since it’s completely freeware, you can download CCleaner and give it a try on your Windows computer right away.
