Cortana is one of the key new features introduced with Windows 10, as the personal assistant finally made her debut on PCs with this new OS version, and Microsoft is now working to make it available in more countries and languages across the world.

In the meantime, it turns out that the English version is one funny comedian, as stats revealed by Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President of Marketing for Windows and Devices, claim that, since her birth, Cortana has told more than 500,000 jokes when being asked to.

As you probably know if you're an avid Cortana fan, you can do that by simply launching the personal assistant and saying “tell me a joke.” Some of the jokes could indeed make you smile, so if it could collect data such data, revealing how many people actually laughed at these jokes would be a lot more interesting.

In Windows 10, Cortana is integrated directly into the taskbar and comes with the same feature lineup as on Windows Phone devices, while also bringing with some extras, including the possibility of controlling music playback.

Microsoft has promised to bring Cortana in more countries as soon as possible but also to add new functionality in future update, so time will tell if Cortana usage is indeed taking off or not. For the moment, Cortana's limited availability is an important drawback and Microsoft needs to deal with this before anything else.
