Microsoft has started the Surface Dial offensive, with the company now highlighting apps that can be used with this accessory, as it tries not only to boost its adoption but also to show the capabilities of the device for both users and developers.

To do this, the company has partnered with software vendors to create applications optimized for the Surface Dial, including CorelDRAW, Autodesk’s SketchBook, Silicon Bender’s Sketchable, and Algoriddim’s djay Pro.

As far as djay Pro is concerned, the application makes it possible for users to create music and edit tracks with the Surface Dial, with features such as adjusting filters supported in the first version.

“Starting today, djay Pro is available in the Windows Store. Fully leveraging Surface Studio with its beautiful PixelSense display, djay Pro also includes unique location-aware Surface Dial integration. With Surface Dial, users can browse their music library, scratch, scrub, loop, and precisely adjust knobs and filters on screen and for each deck individually, providing a truly innovative interaction paradigm to DJs,” Microsoft announced.

The Surface Dial was announced in October last year as one of the most revolutionary accessories for the Surface Studio, and with support for partners, everybody wins, including Microsoft, developers, and users.

What’s worth knowing, however, is that these powerful apps launching with support for the Surface Dial do not come cheap, and dJay Pro, for instance, can be purchased for no less than $49.99.
