If you’re currently on Windows 7 or 8.1, you probably know how difficult it is to avoid having your PC upgraded to Windows 10, and in most of the cases, the rescue comes from third-party apps that block the Get Windows 10 app and thus prevent any forced upgrades.

While GWX Control Panel is the top solution for many users, GWX Stopper is also a worthy alternative, as it does pretty much the same thing and keeps your PC away from any unexpected upgrades.

And thanks to an update to version 3.0, GWX Stopper is now even more effective, with the developing team saying that the app is capable of blocking GWX even if Windows Update reactivates it.

Clearly, this is an important addition to its feature arsenal, as we’ve all discovered that various updates that Microsoft ships every month secretly re-enable the Get Windows 10 app, so it’s important to have a tool that blocks it whenever this happens.

Version 3.0 adds protection against GWX executing, so it promises to be fully effective when it comes to blocking the Windows 10 upgrade from running on your PC.

Plus, the same user-friendly interface continues to be offered, so just launch the app and click the button that says “Stop GWX!” to block the upgrade. There’s also a second option called “Always Block GWX from Running!” to make sure that reactivation is not possible.
