“Hi there, I’m Windows 10, why don’t you upgrade right now?”

It’s no secret that the Windows 10 upgrade is often becoming really aggressive, and there are lots of users out there who actually installed the new operating system without them specifically asking for it.

Microsoft called all of these “mistakes,” but said every time that users are still in control of the upgrade and they’re always prompted to choose whether to install the new OS or not.

A recent GIF posted by the redditors over at PCMR shows that there are times when refusing the Windows 10 upgrade is quite a tiresome thing to do, and answering violence with violence seems to be the only way to go (although let’s be clear, violence should never be the answer to anything).

Windows 10 is offered as a free upgrade to users of Windows 7 and 8.1 and the promo lasts until July 29, 2016, with Microsoft hoping to install the new operating system on as many as 1 billion devices by the end of this year. This could actually be the reason the company is pushing for everyone so hard to upgrade, although it’s undoubtedly users’ decision whether to do it or not.

There are many ways to refuse the upgrade to Windows 10, but despite all of them, “accidents” still happen and some PCs still end up running it. Fortunately, there’s always the option to downgrade to the previous OS in the first 30 days after the install.
