Microsoft Band is about to receive the first major refresh in its history, so the Redmond-based software giant is now struggling to clear out inventories in anticipation of the second generation's debut.

In addition to several discounts that the Band received in the last few weeks, there's another one for those living in the United Kingdom which is available for just one day.

Amazon is selling the Band for £119.99, which is a price cut of £50.00, so you're saving 29 percent. The deal is available as part of the Amazon one-day deal, but the Band is directly sold by Microsoft.

Later today, Microsoft is set to unveil the Band 2, a revamped smart wristband which will feature not only a new design, but also more features. Word has it that the Band 2 will be packed with sensors, but this is also the case of the first generation, so it will be interesting to see how Microsoft manages to improve the original model.

And yet, the biggest changes will come in terms of design, as the Band 2 will come with a curved display, which should make it a lot more comfortable to wear. The batteries might also have a new place, as Microsoft has reportedly found a new place that again makes you forget that you're wearing a wristband.

Full details about the new Band will be revealed in just a couple of hours, so keep an eye on Softpedia to find out the latest about the device.
