New languages can’t be downloaded in this build

Windows 10 Mobile 14267.1004 was released to insiders last week and since it’s only the second Redstone build, it’s quite obvious that it’s very prone to bugs and other issues.

In addition to the known bugs that Microsoft has unveiled in the original announcement, it appears that there’s also an issue affecting the keyboard of devices that install this build.

According to user feedback, Lumia devices running this new Windows 10 Mobile build cannot download new keyboard languages, as the process fails with a message only saying that “An error occurred.” This behavior is only experienced on devices that update to build 14267.1004 and perform a full reset.

A Microsoft engineer has already acknowledged the bug and said in a statement that no workaround is available for the moment. Devices that are updated to this build and come with several keyboard languages should work normally.

“Just wanted to let you know we've been investigating this issue (and are working on adding it to the blog). It's specific to 14267.1004. Right now, unfortunately, it doesn't look like there's a workaround, although if you upgrade with the keyboards, they should all be there as expected,” she posted.

Windows 10 Mobile 14267.1004 is only available on devices that shipped with Windows 10 in the first place and Microsoft said that other devices will be updated to Redstone builds once they get the official upgrade to the new OS too.
