14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft is expected to release a new cumulative update for Windows 10 PCs in the coming days, as the company has already started testing it with help from insiders enrolled in the Release Preview ring.
Windows 10 cumulative update 10586.336, which was released for mobile devices earlier this week, is very likely to be shipped to PCs very soon, although the company usually releases such improvements on Patch Tuesday every month.
And yet, since we’re two weeks away from this month’s Patch Tuesday, it doesn’t make sense for Microsoft to start testing this cumulative update so early, especially given the fact that mobile devices had already gotten it a few days ago.
This time, the cumulative update doesn’t seem to bring anything too exciting, so it’s most likely focused exclusively on fixing bugs, improving performance, and optimizing other features across the operating system. Of course, this would be aimed only at users running the stable version of Windows 10 and who aren’t part of the Insider program.
It remains to be seen if Microsoft manages to solve the issues experienced with cumulative updates in the past, as plenty of users complained they couldn’t install them or came across other problems after that, so hopefully, everything would go more smoothly this time. It remains to be seen when this cumulative update lands, but we shouldn’t have to wait too long, given the fact that insiders are already testing it.
