Google apps are still missing from Windows Phone, but it's no secret that most Microsoft customers also own Google accounts, so offering support for services such as Gmail and Google Calendar is quite critical to everyone.

Fortunately, you can configure the Windows Phone Mail app to work with Gmail too, and in a video posted on YouTube recently, Microsoft details how its users can use their accounts on their devices.

As we all know, setting up a Google account on a Windows Phone device is not at all that hard, but it's pretty clear that Microsoft wants to make it easier for everyone to do that, especially because the company needs to tackle the lack of Google apps on its platform.

With a little luck, this problem could be fixed in Windows 10 Mobile, but there's still no word on whether Google plans to update its apps to work on Microsoft's platform or not.

Windows 10 Mobile will be able to run Android apps, but in order to use Google services, devices also need to be running Google Play Services, which is pretty much the biggest challenge right now that needs to be addressed before bringing Gmail, Google Maps, or Google+ on a phone powered by Microsoft's smartphone OS.

Microsoft's new operating system is projected to launch in a couple of months, so more information on this should be provided soon.
