New versions of the apps are delivered through the store

Today Microsoft has rolled out updates for the Mail and Calendar apps in Windows 10, but the company hasn’t yet provided a change log to let us know what is new in these releases.

The version number of both Mail and Calendar has been bumped from 17.4 to 17.6, and many users claim that the new apps load faster and seem to be more reliable than before.

At the same time, some of those who previously experienced live tile issues with either Mail or Calendar claim that everything is working fine right now, after deploying the updates, which could be a sign that the company focused specifically on fixing bugs in these new versions.

Microsoft is expected to release more app updates in the coming weeks, as we get closer to the final version of Windows 10, which, according to the company’s own schedule, should be ready on July 29.

RTM is prepared for this week, so seeing these updates go live is not at all surprising, especially because the development team is no longer focused on new features, but on fixing bugs and improving the overall performance on PCs, tablets, and smartphones.

We’ve reached out to the company to find out whether there’s any official change log for this new release, so we’ll update the article, should we receive an answer.
