“Show us the update size, just like in Windows 7”

One of the changes that Microsoft made in Windows 10 was to move the Windows Update screen (and other Control Panel sections) to the new touch-optimized Settings screen that's available with the same look and feel across all devices running the OS.

So now, when you want to update your system, the Settings screen is the one destination you must access, but for the time, it lacks some key features.

As we told you not a long time ago, users want Microsoft to provide change logs for every single Windows update, but now the Feedback app comes with another request: the file size of each patch.

There are several requests in the Feedback app, each with hundreds of votes, to display the file size of each update, just as the company did in Windows 7. The Settings screen does not show such information, so when updating the computer, you can't tell for sure what is the size of the patches you're getting and how much time you need to complete the task.

Microsoft hasn't yet said anything about this suggestion, but there's no doubt that it's pretty easy to implement, so expect it to be added in a future update. This is the kind of information that users really need in Windows 10, despite the fact that Home users will get all updates downloaded and installed automatically on their PCs.
