WhatsApp hard at work to improve the WP client

Busy week for the Windows Phone development team at WhatsApp, as they released several new updates for the beta client that brought significant changes to conversation UI and document sharing features.

And according to a new report by aggiornamentilumia.it, a new update was released earlier today, bringing another visual improvement to the application, as well as important bug fixes on Windows Phone devices.

First of all, it’s worth pointing out that this update is only available for the beta version, so unless you are part of the private program started by WhatsApp to test updates before rolling them out to retail users, you can’t actually give it a try.

This new update brings a welcome change in the conversation window, moving the contact profile photo to the left side of the screen, leaving the call button alone in the right part.

This is clearly a helpful tweak because whenever you want to view the full profile photo you no longer risk to accidentally call someone by tapping the wrong button. This has been one common complaint until now, so a future update for WhatsApp could finally fix it on Windows Phone.

At the same time, this update also fixes a bug that has previously affected status messages in WhatsApp, while also bringing improvements and optimizations to make the app run smoother on all devices powered by Windows Phone.

Thanks for the tip, alberts.96!
