WhatsApp for Windows Phone has recently received voice calling features, and today a new version of the app has showed up in the phone store for users of Microsoft’s mobile platform.

WhatsApp hasn’t provided a change log for this new release, but we’re hearing that the app comes with significant speed improvements that make the app feel faster on any Windows Phone device out there.

Obviously, bug fixes and other improvements are also very likely to be part of this release, but the biggest star of the show is definitely the update that WhatsApp made in terms of speed.

As usual, the update is automatically delivered via the Windows Phone Store, so if automatic updates are enabled, the new version might already be there.

Last week, WhatsApp officially rolled out voice calling features for Windows Phone users, a few months after similar options arrived on Android devices, thus making it possible for Lumia owners to talk to their contacts straight from WhatsApp and without using the carrier’s phone calling features.

Needless to say, all users are recommended to get this new version of the app even though no change log is provided, but since it’s specifically focused on speed, most of you should really be pleased with the final result. So go ahead and download WhatsApp for Windows Phone from to store and let us know if anything else that deserves to be mentioned is included in this version.
