Microsoft is expected to release a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Mobile devices very soon and there are signs that 10586.312 (or a newer version) could be the one to ship as a cumulative update for devices that are still running the 10586 build.

Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, said that a new Windows 10 Mobile build is more likely to arrive the next week together with its PC sibling because of a major bug, but it’s not yet clear whether the next cumulative update for 10586 devices is also on the table for a next week release or it could actually land sooner than that.

In the meantime, videos showing the .312 build have reached the web and just like NPU notes, they show only small improvements, most of them aimed at the overall performance of the OS.

There’s no notable change in these builds and it kind of makes sense, as Microsoft is more focused on optimizing performance and making the OS run smoother on supported device.

For the moment, nobody can tell for sure if 10586.312 is the next version to be released to users because a newer version could also be compiled in the meantime, but no matter its build number, expect only small changes and a focus on performance, stability, and bug fixing.
