Signs of a possible panorama feature for Windows 10 Mobile devices have already been spotted out there in the wild, but Microsoft hasn’t acknowledged work on such an update for its mobile platform. But this has all changed earlier today.

Brandon LeBlanc, Microsoft Senior Program Manager, has confirmed in a recent tweet that the panorama feature for Windows 10 Mobile is projected to launch “soon,” but he hasn’t provided any other details.

Asked whether Microsoft is planning any updates for the Lumia 950 camera, including a panorama feature, Brandon LeBlanc has explained that there is “nothing new to share about switching off auto enhancements, but hope to have panorama out soon.”

For the moment, there is no release date available, but the upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update seems to be the perfect opportunity to roll out this improvement - this is still unconfirmed for the time being, as the existing preview builds do not feature panorama support in Windows 10 Mobile.

Microsoft previously offered panorama capabilities to Windows phone users with the dedicated Nokia Panorama app, but this was pulled when the company launched the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade, probably with plans to integrate its functionality into the operating system.

This certainly makes sense when looking at the feature package of Windows 10 Mobile, but it’s clearly taking more time than anyone would expect, given the fact that the new OS was released in March.
