Latest Flipboard update finally brings live tile support

Live tiles are the most awesome thing on Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile devices, and it’s really hard to understand how come so many apps, including some belonging to Microsoft, don’t actually have such a feature.

Starting today, the Flipboard news app has its very own live tile on Windows 10 Mobile devices, using it to display the latest stories right on the home screen. This means that you no longer need to launch the app to read the latest articles because you can check out the titles in the live tile and fire up Flipboard only if there’s something interesting.

At the same time, the latest Flipboard update also brings support for Google accounts, so you can log in with your Google credentials (although we do know what Google thinks about Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile).

“Now use Google+ SSO to sign into your Flipboard account on Windows 10 devices - we'll log you in with all your preferences so you have everything you've already saved ready for you to enjoy,” the change log reads.

And last but not least, the top stories of the day are now delivered to Windows 10 Mobile users with push notifications, so you’ll get to find out the hottest topics without even launching the app.

There are also several other bug fixes and performance optimizations in the latest Flipboard update for Windows Phone, so head over to the store to get it right away.
