And what better way to do that than by booting in Windows 95?
Or, if you have the time and the skills, you could do it with style: boot Windows 95 on a device that's not in any way related to Microsoft's operating system. Just like this guy did with his Nintendo 3DS.
As Microsoft's Retail Sales & Marketing Director revealed on Twitter, someone managed to port Windows 95 to a Nintendo 3DS and get it up and running.
Sort of, because while the operating system can be seen loading, it doesn't actually reach the desktop. And while work and further porting tweaks need to be made, it's definitely a start, although it's hard to see a reason for bringing Windows 95 on a Nintendo 3DS, other than doing it for fun.
And yet, it's nice to see that Windows 95 still lives on in so many unexpected ways, especially because the whole world seems to be about Windows 10 these days (or Windows 7, for those who're trying so hard to block the upgrade to the new OS).
