CATALIN CIMPANU
I truly enjoy working at Softpedia because it allows me to do one of my favorite things in the world: randomly navigating the web, looking for new scripts & plugins.
Really enjoy reading design books, watching American football with my friends and playing Call of Duty: United Offensive.
If you find your script indexed on our "Scripts" section and want to add or edit something, don't hesitate do contact me

MONICA ROMAN
Hi! I'm a programmer who played with PCs when Borland Pascal was around. Since then, I always tried to discover new technologies and gadgets, number one reason my friends call me a geek.
When they don't see me working at my computer, I'm usually found drawing, studying Japanese or gone hiking and mountain climbing.
Joining the Softpedia team has been a great opportunity so far and I look forward to learning more things while working here.

... and I'm a PC. I enjoy games of all shapes and sizes, especially shooters and moba. My favorite game series is Prince of Persia , having finished it three or four times. I also like more old-school games, like Worms or Transport Tycoon. And yes, I've played a couple of social games, but you can't blame me, they're so addictive! Btw can you send me a cow? Just kidding.
I'm also a big fan of the Rubik's Cube, but being the clumsy person that I am, I lost misplaced it somewhere.
I wrote my first "Hello World" at the age of eleven in Borland Pascal. Since then I've moved on to fancier programming thingies. There are always new technologies appearing in the world of software development, and although it's not rocket science, it can be a bit daunting at times. But hey... you can always count on someone else trying to figure it out and posting it on the interwebs. more >>

Mientras finalizo mis estudios de Psicología, ocupo gran parte de mi tiempo leyendo noticias de política internacional o novelas de suspense en mi lector electrónico.
También tengo bastante interés en la fotografía, el cine y las tecnologías renovables.

I am an avid gamer, who likes indie, RPG and action adventure games and a huge rock fan who recently developed interest in 8-bit music.
I also like watching TV shows, my personal favorites being Chuck, Leverage and Stargate.
When I'm not playing games or wasting time on the Internet, I grab a good Sci-Fi or History book.

RADU BOGDAN
I follow many rules in life, some are mine, some are others', but I often find common ground in things like friendship, responsibility, and various others aspects of life.
I’m always in the line for a good joke, a killer innovation or discovering new places. Switching from one hobby to another improved my personal achievements list considerably, while also keeping boredom at bay.
As far as technology goes, every new discovery and innovation gets me hyped up, willing to try it out to experience whatever it brings with it.

IULIA BOGHIAN

The variety of programs nowadays never ceases to amaze me and this is probably one of the driving forces behind my contributions to the Mac area of Softpedia. My role at Softpedia is to provide fresh software to the masses but also to renew the well-established ones.
As for my out-of-work endeavors, I have the habit of losing myself into an ever-changing sea of words and their respective meanings. Every discipline has its own charm but what really gets me excited is the grammar-related stuff mixed with translation.
Other occupations include getting my mind blown by the concepts of infinite space and time and biological evolution.

MIHAELA CITEA
I am two persons in one: I’m a Gemini, I like having people around and I’m a dedicated friend, or so they say. I am a simple person, but I dream at having at least one statue – we all should.
I love seeing places I’ve never seen before, I like to laugh and I simply love cats.
I am not good at remembering names, but I do remember the ones that count.
The most important thing I learned so far is that people plan and God laughs.

STEFAN FINTEA
Back when I first got my hands on a computer (remember Sinclair ZX Spectrum?), most programs didn't target the average user, but a lot of things changed since then and now the amount of applications under active development is absolutely overwhelming.
Since a computer is not of much use without the right tools, I've always considered my job at Softpedia to be a great way for me to help people find the program they need in an ocean of computer software.
As time passes by, new challenges arise: since the old days I've always done my best to make sure we're listing the latest updates (and, of course, those listings have to be 100% accurate), but it's time to give something back, so now I'm also promoting those apps which stand out from the crowd, making Softpedia the one and only IT encyclopedia with bookmarks to all the software goodies.

OLIVIAN PUHA
Anytime is a good time for having a good time. Fun is not (in) everything, but when you find joy in your job and daily activities (like I do), you can hardly ask for more.
I like to think of myself as a fun person to work (and play) with.
I enjoy music (a bit from almost every style), meddling with my computers, as well as with old or new software, but most of all I just love to spend time and play with my little son.

OANA LUNTRARU

IULIA IVAN
The first time I was introduced to an Apple computer, my mentor told me to relax and enjoy the ride since this is the simplest, most secure and hard-to-mess-up operating system ever.
As it turns out, with enough curiosity, imagination and determination, you can push any boundaries. When she told me that she has never seen so many Black Screens of Death as on my iMac in her life, I decided I must have a certain native talent, and persevered.
Years later, my Mac purrs smoothly and the only way to see a BSoD is to use it as a wallpaper, but I must admit that I never had so much fun as in those early days when I was trying to figure out what went wrong and if it can be fixed without a system install... more >>

Growing up, I realized that very few activities fit my personality. I tried karate, then failed in ballet (sports just didn't make sense to me), modelling didn't work out (because I just couldn't deal with high heels) and I finally fell in love with maths.
It made me happy, it never disappointed me and most of all, helped me develop a decent amount of imagination.
I'll love it till the last digit of pi.

I was not exactly a computer enthusiast before joining Softpedia, but four OSes later (XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8), I started to appreciate the surprises Windows brings to its users, be they pleasant or not so much.
In addition to breaking, then fixing my PC, I spend quite a lot of time discovering new functions in my newly-acquired Android phone and testing at least two dozens mobile games.
Another way to spend my time is to enjoy my newly-found passion for Science Fiction.
Last but not least, I consider all foreign languages fascinating, so I always try to learn some words and phrases whenever / wherever I travel abroad.

I suppose I'm the newest team member around, but still quite excited to be here. I have an eye for spelling, so I make sure no typos end up getting published – or at least I try my best to do so.

SORIN CIRNEALA
I loved computers since I discovered PC games as a kid playing with two of my friends on a single computer.
I worked for a year to save money for my own computer and the "toy" was host for a lot of operating systems, programs, games, hardware upgrades and so on!
I've had my share of computer chashes because my overwhelming curiosity made me install hundreds of programs just to see what I can do with them. But in the end this was the driving force that made me join the Softpedia testing department.
This is how I am able to test a lot of great applications without reinstalling the OS every two months and I am learning a lot from the other experienced colleagues on the team.

DANIELA MICU

Always smiling, very easy to talk to, and always happy to give a helping hand, a short summary of me, myself and I.
I handle the Softpedia freeware section, and believe that Open Source is the best way to develop software, mainly because, it gives users the possibility to create the applications they want, the way they want them.
Other than that, I like to enjoy the pages of adventure books, explore nature, either by foot or by bike, and, of course, the presence of good, quality people, that is, when I'm not playing on my PC.

BOGDAN POPA
I'm Bogdan and chances are that you already know my name from the Windows software download page where I publish mini-reviews on a daily basis.
There are two things I like in this world: computers, cars and cats. OK, I lied, they're three. And it's more or less obvious that I hate math. And waking up in the morning. And planes. And American football.
But I like pasta (like 99 percent of the world population), soccer (as in European football) and Formula 1. Ferrari all the way!
If I combine the first two of my aforementioned hobbies, I like to have a look under the hood of each software solution out there and share the findings with you, the readers, although developers may sometimes want to use their spells on me.

SORIN BRABETE
I joined Softpedia in 2002 when the project was very much still in its infancy and had a different name, which some of our older (perhaps “dedicated” is a better word here) users might remember: SoftNews.
It was a great opportunity for me and, over the years, I’ve seen and helped it grow with my technical knowledge and various other skills, most of which were largely developed during the same time.
Looking back, it’s simply amazing what we’ve achieved so far and I’m honored to be a part of it all. But, experience and work hours aside (as loose as that concept is in my case, anyway), I like to think that deep inside Softpedia, there’s a bit of my heart and soul, powering its engine.
To me, it’s been like a rollercoaster ride you never want to end and, since this year we passed the 10 year milestone, I can only wish the next decade is just as great, if not even better! If you’re still reading, mark my words: stay tuned to Softpedia, great things are (always) coming!

ROXANA CONSTANTIN
Ever since I joined Softpedia in 2009, I've been reviewing articles submitted by the editors, proofing content for spelling/grammar and ‘good word flow,’ filtering through the textual content that goes up on the news section.
A humanist by education and by choice, I more than deeply appreciate a fine piece of literature and good old music, but I have to admit that being on the 21st century side of things through my work here at Softpedia brings out a brighter, up-to-date and more realistic perspective on our world.
I’m not going to give you an extensive personal introduction. However, I need to tell you that I admire people who take a very down-to-earth approach on life and still enjoy the beauty of it all.

ALEXANDRU NICULAITA
The first gaming experience I had was with an Atari 800XL. After approximately 500 lines of code, I could finally play a fun single-player pong game. As some of you may remember, because the "PC" was not fitted with a cassette deck, every day, I had to write the same code over and over again. Yes, I'm that much into games.
When it comes to genres, I must admit RPG's are my weakness, though I never pass on a good shooter or stunning adventure game.
When I finally decide a life outside the office is something worth considering, I like hiking, biking and fishing.

Ever since I can remember my life clearly, I've been continuously connected to some kind of computer. Slowly yet securely, this hobby turned into an addiction and thus I find myself today bearing a computer geek within my being.
I know it sounds bad, sometimes it really acts as a real burden. This reminds me of the countless times my parents and friends had to intervene in order to take me away from the computer. Thanks to them, I can enjoy a day without any electronical interference (even though it rarely happens) and see life beyond these boundaries.
Sometimes, you have to open your eyes and ears to the people around you. You cannot be always right about everything.

SERGIU GATLAN
I'm a guy who likes Macs and (almost) all things with an Apple logo on them, a member of the "Concerned Coffee Drinking Apple Users Association Against Hot Weather" foundation, an inquisitive geek with my eyes constantly on the look for new things to learn and a student in the fine art of trolling.
I started using Macs about 5 years ago, after writing and updating software on our website's Handheld, Mobile and Windows areas. Although the first time we met Macs seemed to rub me the wrong way, I now use them on a daily basis at work (I also use a Windows powered PC / Linux powered laptop combo at home).
I am the one that makes sure we always have the freshest software releases on our Mac area and the chap that writes tutorials to help you get out of sticky situations or get things done the right way.
If you ever want to ask about anything Apple/Mac related (or anything else for that matter), contact me and I will do my best to answer you in a timely fashion.

ELENA GORGAN
Believe that the pen is mightier than the sword: a humanist by education, a dreamer by inclination and a perfectionist by habit, I always believed in the magical power of words. Having joined Softpedia in 2006 and constantly working on my ninja word-skills, I now have proper confirmation that words can – and do – change the world.
My hobbies include writing and literature (no surprise there), hiking, movies, music and (the occasionally disastrous) culinary experiments. Somehow, they all touch on my job so, if you want, call me the luckiest girl on a four-block area, because I'm always having fun and keeping busy.
If I'm not at work, trust you'll find me at home with a good book, at the movies or hanging out with my closest friends, always trying to absorb new experiences, learn more, be a better person.
You're more than welcome to join me on this amazing ride.

LUCIAN PARFENI
The web's been changing our lives for almost two decades now, and it still seems like things are only getting started. With the latest wave of web technologies, HTML5 and friends coming into their own, things will only get more interesting.
I've been interested in computers and anything related to them as far as I can remember, when the web was just getting started.
Watching it grow from a few pages of text, links and images - that you had to wait tens of seconds to load, to something that is close to replacing traditional operating systems and to something where you can find all of man's knowledge, any movie or song you'd ever want to watch, or friends you haven't seen in years, has been fascinating. Getting to write about it is even better.
Still, there comes a time when you need to 'log off', which for me means either trying to create something resembling music with only the help of '0s' and '1s', or getting out and snapping photos of anything I find interesting, which, for me, means a surprising amount of things.

If being totally enthusiastic when buying a new piece of technology, whether be it a mobile phone, a graphics card or a neat sound system is being a geek, then I must be one.
I loved computers and the freedom they offer ever since I discovered them, at about 16. I don’t imagine myself without one; in fact, even before working at Softpedia I spent more time around one then I did with my friends.
I enjoy finding cool software to make spending my time on the computer even more fun and I am always on the lookout for cool gadgets. I also appreciate a good game now and then and I am always eager to explore new worlds, new concepts or unique approaches.

The interesting thing about working at Softpedia in the Windows Software Review division is that you get to see what the big names in software development are trying to come up with, in order to conquer the digital world. It gets more exciting when a newcomer rises above all expectations and takes the lead (at least temporary). The best part is getting to sit in the front row and judge the players.
When I'm not working with my awesome colleagues, I try to finish grad school (Computer Science and American Studies), travel as much as possible, develop super powers (currently aiming for time-travel), get together with my friends, play video games - while desperately waiting for winter every year to exercise my suicidal moves on the snowboard slope.

TUDOR VIERU
Unknowingly, I've been a science geek for the better part of the last 20 years, but it was only here that I figured out the full extent of my passion for all things new. The first story I wrote about galaxies and black holes won me over, and so I've been writing for Softpedia since late 2008.
Since then, I've literally covered more subjects and topics than I can possibly hope to remember, but I can honestly say that I could go on doing this forever. Working a “normal” job can quickly become routine, but being a science editor is anything but boring.
When not busy with science articles, I like to play my bass guitar, make music, hang out with friends and listen to the latest songs by my favorite bands. I also take my aggressive rollerblading to the streets from time to time, though my skills aren't what they once were.
