Microsoft released a removal tool for the MSBlast worm. There still were users that got infected by the 6-month old worm virus which is causing network congestion.
MSBlast worm can also be found by the name of Blaster/W32.Blaster which started spreading August, last year.
Many corporations already patched their stations against the worm, but there are still home users that have the virus and spread it to others.
Besides the obvious reason of releasing this tool, Microsoft also addresses ISP's that complain about the large traffic the worm generates.
This tool will help remove the Blaster worm from Windows XP and Windows 2000 machines infected with Blaster and patched with MS03-26 [KB823980] or MS03-039 [KB824146].
