BookSmart is a comprehensive software program that sports easy-to-use, yet powerful tools for helping you create, design and manage virtual books. You can use it to build eye-catching presentations, for example.
The interface of the application is clean and intuitive, so less experienced users should not encounter any navigation issues. You can create a new book by specifying a title, author name and preset format (e.g. Large Landscape with a hardcover).
But you may also pick a starter layout (e.g. portofolio, wedding, poetry, blog to book) and use the tutorial if you're unsure of how to proceed.
It is possible to select photos to include in your book, which can belong to the computer or online platforms (e.g. Flickr, Picasa), plus a theme (Viewfinder, Darkroom, or Vivid).
BookSmart lets you set up plenty of options for your book. For example, you can select the cover, change the size, theme and layout (e.g. chapter, title, copyright), apply a background with ornaments, remove pages, insert additional photographs, and preview the book in the main frame (zoom in and out).
Furthermore, you can duplicate the book, import and export data, alter the library location, modify the viewing mode (e.g. pages as thumbnails), adjust font and text settings, as well as rotate, flip, crop and align pictures, among others.
BookSmart uses a pretty high amount of CPU and system memory, is very responsive to commands, and includes a help file. No error dialogs have been shown in our tests, and the tool did not hang or crash. Thanks to its intuitive layout, yet rich features, BookSmart should please the entire audience.
