Softpedia Editor's Review for Wondershare Movie Story (formerly DVD Slideshow Builder)
A tool to burn perfect slideshows on DVD with your digital pictures and videos.
Written by Elena Opris on February 26th, 2013
Formerly known as DVD Slideshow Builder, Wondershare Movie Story is a program which allows you to create and design slideshows from pictures, so you can turn them into movies and burn them to disc. It can be easily figured out.
The interface of the application is clean and pretty intuitive. Importing images and videos into the timeline can be done with the help of the file browser, since the 'drag and drop' method is not supported.
In addition, you can insert blank slides, add background music and subtitles, record sound, toggle between timeline and thumbnail view, as well as zoom in and out.
When it comes to the DVD menu, you can select a template from the available categories (e.g. occasions, professional), add background music and change the aspect ratio. It is also possible to preview the project. If you are satisfied with the results, you can select the burner device, engine and volume label, as well as save the file to the hard drive by generating an ISO item or DVD folder.
Several configuration settings are available through the 'Options' screen. So, you can pick the TV system type (NTSC or PAL), aspect ratio, display size and play mode (full screen or safe mode), as well as choose the encoding option (force CBR), DVD audio language and video quality.
The program requires a moderate-to-high amount of CPU and system memory, is pretty responsive to commands, contains user documentation and quickly finishes a task without freezing, crashing or displaying error dialogs.
We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation. Thanks to its intuitive layout and rich features, Wondershare Movie Story can be handled by both first-time and experienced users. No recent updates have been made.
