DVD Ripper Wizard
DVD Ripper Wizard is one of the tools developed to help you rip DVD movies, providing very intuitive options to copy disc content on the local disks with minimum effort.
You may not know where to start when you first launch the app, despite the clean look of the GUI. This mostly happens because the built-in buttons come with no description, so users may simply need to move the mouse cursor over every single button to find out its purpose.
There are three ripping modes at your disposal, so you can copy either only specific chapters, time segments or the entire disc.
The supported formats include AVI, DivX and Xvid, with dedicated options to choose compressor and output path.
If you choose to rip chapters, simply select the ones you wish to process and start the task, while the timed segments require users to input duration of each part.
Resolution can be customized too and the main window of the app also comes with a preview screen to let you watch clips before the conversion task.
Another good thing is the log tab that enables users to determine the source of any potential errors, but also the help manual that comes with a great amount of information on every single feature.
The ripping engine is fast and it has no special hardware requirements, so system performance doesn’t seem to be affected at all during this process.
As a conclusion, DVD Ripper Wizard is an effective product, but it’s pretty clear that a more user-friendly approach is absolutely needed. The good thing however is that a help manual is also available, so rookies can receive assistance whenever it’s needed.
