ISO Recorder is a Windows tool that allows you to quickly burn an ISO image to a CD or DVD drive and to create a ISO file from a CD or DVD. The application is integrated in Windows Explorer and the context menu of ISO files. This tool can be used by anyone that simply wants to send a disc image file directly to the CD or DVD Writer without a lot of wizard windows and complicated applications.

That does not mean that you cannot select the writer or change the writing speed. These options are available in the program as well as the option to eject the disc after burning that is used by almost every disc burning application.

The program is designed to work with one window without confirmation so you need to be sure that you want to burn the image to the disc. But it is still a lot more comfortable to open a single window with the most important options than to go through six or seven popup windows for every parameter.

The program can use as source a CD / DVD image file or another disc that is inserted into a drive that is connected to the computer. Another useful function is to create a disc image by reading the content of a CD or DVD drive. It is also a quick operation where you just need to right click the disc drive and select the output folder for the ISO file.

The process did not have a performance impact on our computer but is rather slow. It took about 25 minutes to create an image for a full data DVD. This can be useful when you want to perform other tasks but really annoying when you are in hurry.

Overall ISO Recorder is a good replacement for a disc burner or copier that is free to use for every computer user.
