Softpedia Editor's Review for ISOpen

A CDROM image file utility that will help you create ISO images, as well as convert your audio files
Written by Elena Opris on December 20th, 2011
ISOpen is an application you can use to easily create and extract ISO files.
The interface of the program is plain and simple, thanks to the file browser on the right side of the window.
All you have to do is add files and folders to the queue (by using the "drag and drop" method), edit the ISO file name and then create the image.
Extracting content from an ISO file is very simple as well, by dragging it to the Explorer layout, or by using the "Extract" button found in the context menu (you can also view HEX codes),
So, you can burn a project to a CD or DVD, erase a CD-RW or DVD-RW, create a boot file from a floppy disk, or convert several image format types (including ISO, BIN, IMG, CIF, NRG, PDI and LDC) to ISO, NRG, BIN or CUE.
In the "Options" menu you can set file associations, configure CD-ROM communication properties, empty the temporary directory or select your preferred language.
In addition, ISOpen also includes an audio converter which is able to encode WAV, MP3, OGG and WMA to WAV, MP3 and OGG. Unfortunately, you cannot configure any audio settings.
The software uses a low amount of system resources and completes a job in a reasonable amount of time. However, the installation package doesn't include a help file. Furthermore, if ISOpen doesn't recognize a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, it pops up several errors, after which it automatically closes. Otherwise, we recommend ISOpen to all users.
