IceTea is a simple Sony Playstation emulation program that is capable of making your PSX CDs compatible with the Sony PlayStation Portable systems.
The emulator provides you with a user-friendly tab-based interface, with simple menus, making the emulation process easy. Even if you are a beginner, you can emulate your PSX game easily, as there are two available modules: basic and expert.
In order to create a valid PSX Eboot, there are a few steps that you have to follow. The first thing to do is select the PSX image that you want to play. Adjusting the compression level, choosing the game unique ID, as well as the output saving location are other options that you have to configure.
The application allows you to choose a custom name for the eboot image, which is displayed in the XrossMediaBar.
The Expert module offers you the possibility to customize the appearance of the menu. There are multiple items that you can change. For example, you can set the fullscreen background image, the info screen picture, the icon and its animation, the sound file to be played when highlighted, as well as the warning screen.
After completing the set up you just have to press the 'Let's go' button and let the program do its magic. While the program is creating the PSX Eboot, you can view the conversion progress in a separate window.
In addition to this, the program can also be used for the reverse process: you can extract the ISO image from the PBP file.
IceTea is also capable of generating the corresponding in-game manuals. To do this, you can either use an existing image or create your manual from scratch or from a text file. Also, you can use it to patch a manual game ID.
IceTea is a small emulator that can help you play PSX games on PSP systems. However, the process is a bit more complicated, as you need the right firmware version in order to play the converted image on the PSP.
