MID Detective is a very special utility intended to retrieve the Media ID code from a DVD and try to find out the real media manufacturer, so the quality class of the disk. MID Detective applies exclusively to recordable DVD media (DVD /-R/RW, not DVD-ROMs) and requires a device with writing capabilities.
