Softpedia Editor's Review for Nero Recode
|
A state-of-the-art program for importing, recoding (or compressing) and burning DVD-Video
Written by Elena Opris on November 2nd, 2011
So, you have a few DVD images stored on your computer and you want to burn them. There's nothing easier than doing that - you just use a specialized software, insert a blank DVD into the computer, and rip it.
One of the most common problems in this area is that fact that some DVDs are much too large to fit the maximum supported size of DVD disks.
When 4.7 GB are not enough anymore, then you need a tool that can compress the DVD, but still maintain the quality of the image and sound at a reasonable level.
Nero Recode is of the best (and famous) examples in this matter.
This is a free application which you can use to compress and burn your DVD videos.
When it comes to user interface, there's nothing in Nero Recode that you can lose yourself into. All commands are straightforward, so you can't have doubts about anything.
In the main menu you can choose from recoding DVDs and videos to Nero Digital, or recoding main movie to Nero Digital.
Just remember that the DVDs you are about to copy can't have protection on them.
Import DVD parts, and select video quality, audio tracks, and subtitles. Then you choose the output destination, which can be a hard disk folder, or image recorder.
Don't worry, Nero also allows you to make a backup in case something goes wrong.
CPU and memory are fairly used.
In conclusion, Nero Recode is an application that you at least give a shot. It does exactly what it has done in the previous version, so there's nothing new here.
