Files can be converted into BMP, GIF, ICO, PCX, AVI, EXE or FIR formats. It's possible to modify the default output directory, extract file descriptions and save them to file or copy them to the Clipboard, enter passwords, create password files, as well as add and view CRC reports.

The software application also lets you save the timestamps, log program activity to file for later inspection, make file associations, set the main frame to stay on top of other windows, import and export color palettes, set images as wallpapers, as well as mark favorites for quick access.

FIR hasn't been updated for a pretty long time and it's not fully compatible with later Windows editions.
