For instance, Desk Marker gives you the possibility to draw anything on the desktop to create neat live presentations.

The initial launch brings up the configuration window so you can take a look over the set of features, set up hotkeys, and more. This is also where the pen is customized, with the possibility to adjust size, as well as the color. Transparency can be enabled to be able to view background elements.

A few modes are at your disposal, such as freehand or visual controls. While the freehand mode is self explanatory, the visual controls option automatically highlights specific desktop objects such as windows, buttons, and other components you might want to highlight. There’s a flood fill option in case you want to color an entire region.

As mentioned, the application also supports hotkeys, and these can be configured to change modes, and initiate drawing. It’s also possible to erase, and this options is activated through hotkeys as well. Unfortunately, the application can only serve temporary purposes, because there’s no built-in save option. On the other hand, this can be bypassed by simply using the print screen functions.

Bottom line is that live presentations can be performed and enhanced with the help of a variety of applications, and Desk Marker aims to help highlight elements on the spot. Unfortunately, it might show signs of compatibility issues because of the lack of recent updates, and other methods need to be used if you want to save the drawing to file.
