DeskSlide

DeskSlide is a seemingly simple application that actually comes packed with advanced and intuitive options for creating a sequence of image wallpapers to regularly change on your desktop. It's similar to creating and playing a slideshow. The tool supports BMP, GIF, JPG, JPEG, DIB and PNG file types.

The setup procedure is carried out fast and with little effort on your behalf. It gets integrated into the system tray area at startup, creating an icon that provides quick access to its configuration settings. The app doesn't interrupt your regular PC activities, since it silently runs in the background.

You're greeted by a wizard that helps you set everything up in few steps. It's possible to add multiple folders as the source of the wallpapers, configure image style settings when it comes to the layout (e.g. auto fit, full bleed, center, align, tile, random, stretch), and specify the rotation frequency in seconds, minutes, hours, days, at logon, manual, or as a scheduled task.

In DeskSlide's main panel, you can check out the title of the current image, along with the current and total slide, as well as the next and last changed date and time.

There are buttons similar to the ones available in media players, which give you the possibility to select the previous or next image in the sequence to set it as wallpaper, pause the slideshow, extend the panel to view and manage the images, as well as to modify the rotation frequency and image style.

DeskSlide includes powerful and easy-to-use options for setting up a slideshow of images for changing the desktop wallpaper at a regular time. It supports help documentation for less experienced users, along with command lines for advanced ones.
