Iconoid is a simple-to-use application that enables you to personalize desktop settings. For instance, you can hide icons when you don't need them, in order to unclutter the screen.

After a brief installation operation, you are greeted by a small, standard window with a well-organized layout. Figuring out Iconoid's features shouldn't be a difficult task, even for users with less or no experience in such apps.

It is possible to alter the default text color, icon background (transparent or solid color), as well as to enable/disable drop shadows.

You can make the icons always hide, after 5 seconds or according to the cursor's position, hide the taskbar, as well as hide all windows and specify the hot corner.

Plus, you can adjust the delay times, use separate icon positioning for each screen resolution and instantly apply special placements for the icons (top, left, right, bottom, edge).

Other features of Iconoid let you change the desktop background color and wallpaper, retain the aspect ratio of a stretched wallpaper, create an icon to the tool in the system tray area, make it automatically run at system startup, integrate the app into the Explorer context menu, as well as configure keyboard shortcuts, among others.

The application is very low-demanding when it comes to the CPU and system memory, so it doesn't interfere with the runtime of other active processes. It has a good response time, immediately applies changes to the desktop and includes a help file.

No error dialogs have been shown in our tests and Iconoid did not hang or crash; we haven't come across any issues in our tests. However, the app has not been updated for a pretty long time. Other than that, Iconoid can be handled by all types of users, thanks to its intuitive layout.
