Desktop customization options can be as simple as changing the wallpaper every now and then. There are default options to even create a slideshow, but third-party alternatives like Kana WallChanger come with a lot more variety and options to monitor multiple collections.

Running the application brings up a small prompt which offers the possibility to have a folder monitored for changes in case you decide to constantly update it with new pictures. However, it’s possible to bring up the main window to configure more picture galleries to include items from multiple locations.

Supported file formats allow you to add images like BMP, JPEG, and PNG including through drag and drop. Slideshow and general behavior options can also be found in the main window, such as the possibility to randomize the change interval, automatic change, color background, and filling type for the picture to better fit it to screen.

Worth mentioning is that the application doesn’t limit its set of features to just changing the wallpaper. The tray icon is equipped with more functions such as links to one of your computer’s power options, change the screen resolution, lock the workstation, or start the screen saver.

Taking everything into consideration, we come to the conclusion that Kana WallChanger is a practical alternative to the default Windows method of enhancements, and a little bit more. Multiple options are available to configure the slideshow, and even quick access to computer power option or screen resolution.
