When various options and effects are applied to the wallpaper, the effects are not immediately apparent since there is no preview feature. The main image needs to be repeatedly refreshed which is tedious and also provides Wallpaper Generator with a more experimental feel, rather than controlled creation.

Exploring Wallpaper Generator takes some time, the various features are in expandable and collapsible menus that seem more minimal than they really are. A more visual display and one that showed off the range of the features rather than downplayed it would suit the application much more, instead of giving it an understated feel.

Despite the odd choice of design, the range of features is impressive, with a wide range of special effects, backgrounds, resizing, rotating, cropping and shuffle features. The program also supports folder and gallery options, displaying multiple images at once or regularly changing the folder based on a source directory.

Ultimately, Wallpaper Generator is a useful and robust wallpaper creator and editor. Unfortunately, the design needs work, but the biggest issue by far is the lack of a preview feature with the various effects. Being unable to see your edits before they go into affect, presents more of a haphazard feel than a refined and well designed program should. Still, Wallpaper Generator should not be underestimated and for those who become familiar with how it works, it is a robust wallpaper tool.
