Born July 10, 1972 in Barranquilla, Atlantico, Sofía Margarita Vergara began her career after being discovered whilst walking on the beach. Vergara made her first commercial at age 17 for Pepsi, she went on to do both runway and photography modelling and still modelling has since moved into TV. Vergara co-hosted on Fuera de Serie ("Out of the Ordinary" or "Over-the-Top") as well as A que no te atreves ("I Dare You") and has also appeared in Hot Properties and The Knights of Prosperity.
During 2000, she enjoyed a great amount of success in the Latin America communities appearing in posters, calendars and ads. Vergara is currently doing the Colombian version of Desperate Housewives.
