The winter holidays are always better if there’s a layer of white snow on the ground. However, the idealistic snowy landscape isn’t something that’s possible all over the world due to the local weather conditions or to the ever-changing climate.

Animated Snow Wallpaper is a tool that aims to bring at least some of the magic of winter to your desktop. The app displays falling snowflakes over your regular wallpaper.

The flakes come in various sizes and they fall at irregular intervals, which makes it look like it’s really snowing. The software runs on top of your regular desktop background, so you can choose whichever wallpaper you want. Changing your wallpaper doesn’t stop the app, while firing up the program doesn’t change your background.

The program has no interface and comes with no settings, which means you can’t customize it in any way. Also, on the downside, if you have a wide screen, the software doesn’t cover it all. While testing, on a 1920 x 1080 screen, only approximately three quarters of the screen were covered in falling snowflakes, while the other quarter was completely bare.

All in all, Animated Snow Wallpaper is a great idea if you want to get into the spirit of the holidays or simply miss the snowy months. The software is a light tool that barely touches your CPU resources. All users, no matter their level of experience, should find it easy to install and run this app.
