For many users, having a great music collection is not just about having the cool songs but also about organizing them, the metadata for easy finding of the right track as well as about the artwork and, in some cases, even lyrics.
Broadway has been designed as a simple solution for managing metadata details, from finding album images, searching for song lyrics to handling tags and creating playlists.
The application works in tandem with iTunes and requires .NET Framework to be installed on the system.
Clear interface, automatic search
The interface is intuitive, with the menus aligned in the top part of the application window, a search function that works automatically when selecting the track and a docked configuration panel that allows quick customization of the program.
Tunes are accessible from the Playlist screen and do not include other details than the name of the song, the artist and the album name. If some information is missing there is the possibility to add it yourself from the tag editing window.
This enables you to add the release year, track number, name of the composer as well as more technical details like the BPM (beat per minute). Also, every song can be rated and added a comment.
Based on this information, Broadway does all the searching for album art and lyrics automatically.
Another function available in the program is audio playing. It fatures just a basic player with just a few controls like pausing and moving to the next track.
Broadway does not need too much input from the user as searching for data is carried out automatically upon selecting a track. It includes some general options concerning the parameters for the downloaded images.
For iTunes users with a large music collection this could be a useful tool for enriching the database with new info about the tracks.
