Tipard iPod to PC Transfer is a feature-rich software program with intuitive options, designed to help you transfer files from your iPod device to your computer, as the name implies, whether you want to download a song from a friend's device, or just create backups for your personal files in case the iPod gets lost or stolen. However, the tool's functionality does not stop here, since it extends to iPhones and iPads as well.

The setup procedure does not take a long time to finish. Provided that the iDevice is already plugged into the computer, the application loads lists with all identified files, grouped together into various categories, such as music, movies, ringtones, playlists, camera roll and photo library.

It is possible to preview audio and video files in a built-in media player, along with photographs, as well as to export selected entries or everything to the PC or directly to iTunes. File filters can be applied as well, such as genre, artist and album. All program activity can be examined in log files after task completion.

As far as app options are concerned, it is possible to change the log files location, ask the tool to close the task process on job completion as well as to organize folders by creating subdirectories for each filter, customize the types of content to show, and so on.

The tool does not put a strain on computer performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. It transfers files quickly and without triggering Windows to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. However, it failed to detect pictures and other types of files during our evaluation (on iPhone 4). Other than that, it can be handled by all types of users, thanks to its intuitive interface and options.
