Softpedia Editor's Review for iDumpPro (formerly iDump)
|
A handy iPod to PC transferer
Written by Elena Opris on October 27th, 2011
Being the owner of an Apple product is the latest trend nowadays, especially when it comes to iPods, iPads and iPhones. But owning one of these products doesn't necessarily mean they're easy to manage, from the software perspective.
For example, manually transferring songs from an iPod to a PC (or viceversa) usually takes a long of time, especially if we're taking about a large file capacity.
This is where iDump can help you. We're talking about a multimedia iPod tool which is free and has a tiny size.
iDump has an installation package, but it's not mandatory to use. You can also copy the executable file on your computer and run the application from there.
You will be greeted by a standard interface and a few menus. Of course, in order for the program to work, you must already have your iPod connected to the computer.
In Output Options you can choose the destination directory, as well as the order for song information (artist, album, title, genre, track number, and year), and unattended transfer options (overwrite if a file exists, or skip it and move to the next song).
The time it takes iDump to copy is reasonable, and the software uses a fair amount of CPU resources. Because there are so limited features, navigating through them proves to be no problem whatsoever.
In conclusion, all iPod users should have this small application installed on their computer, and use it every time they have an obsessing song playing in the back of their mind one day (you know, because speakers are louder than your head).
