Whenever you lack the necessary inspiration to share a status when using Yahoo Messenger you might want to know that there are several alternatives. One of them is YMedia, a simple utility designed to set the name of the song you're listening to in Windows Media Player as a status message in Yahoo Messenger.

YMedia relies on a rather simple and minimal interface, with only a few customization options. Just after installation, you are prompted to provide the Yahoo Messenger ID to use the application, so only the user-defined accounts are able to automatically change status messages.

The good thing about YMedia is definitely the fact that you have to mention the ID in order to use the app, which means that you can keep some other accounts away from it and avoid changing status messages even if the program is running.

On the other hand, more advanced customization options, with multiple tags and other attractive elements would be great for Yahoo Messenger users who are continuously looking for such a tool.

YMedia remains a good choice for all Windows Media Player fans. It doesn't slow down the computer at all, no matter the Windows version you're using. It takes little time to get it up and running, making for a neat way to share songs without actually contacting anyone.
