LAN Messenger

Social networking and communication is an important part of everyday life and many people like to spend part of their day to send messages and all sort of content to their friends.

One of the applications that could help you with just that is LAN Messenger. It's a nice software solution for sending instant messages to friends on your local network.

The application doesn't require you to complete a complicated setup before you can use it and it doesn't take long to install it on your computer. Moreover, it's a small-sized messenger application that doesn't take up that much space on your device.

It sports a simplistic graphical interface but it does have some neat tools at hand.

LAN Messenger doesn't take long to configure, simply launch it and pick a username. You can also pick an icon for your profile, the program comes with some suggestions that you can check out.

Moreover, there's the option to pick a custom image from your computer and load it inside the application. It doesn't have the option to lock access to your profile using a password or a pin.

Once you've created your profile, you can add a status, like available or busy. You can also create a custom status but it shouldn't exceed 31 characters. There's the option to allow the messenger to show the toolbar or hide it from prying eyes.

In order to send messages, simply tap on the Public Chat feature and a window will open. Simply type in your message there and send it to anyone else who is using your local network. It would have been nice if it had some stickers or the option to send pictures, not just text.

LAN Messenger is a nifty and simplistic application for chatting with friends on the local network and it does come with some handy tools.
