Simple Chat is a basic network chat tool that offers only a few features to allow you to communicate with the other members of your LAN.
Since it's solely focused on this purpose, the application boasts a rather simple interface, with almost no configuration settings and basic features supposed to help it serve its purpose.
Simple Chat uses port 31313, but that can be easily changed from the minimal settings screen included in the app.
Once you launch the program, it automatically detects all connected systems and displays the users list in a clean panel right in the main window, allowing you not only to send and receive messages in a public room, but also send a private message to any user.
There are two global rooms available and there's no dedicated option to create new ones, while the user can choose from a total of two different status messages: available and not available.
Another interesting tool integrated into Simple Chat is the possibility to play a game with another connected user, with only two titles at your disposal.
Obviously, Simple Chat is the kind of software solution that runs on very low hardware resources and doesn't affect system performance at all, while running okay on all Windows versions without even asking for administrator privileges.
