Simple Chat is a light local network communication program that allows you to send personalized messages to your local network talking in two rooms: work and tea room. You will also recieve responses, of course.
Its possibilities are:
1) Talk in two public rooms
2) Send personalized messages to a person in the network, and have him respond to you
3) Play either the Othello game, or the Puissance 4 game with a person in the network
4) Very easy to set up.
When you start the program (Start->Programs->Simple Chat->Simple Chat) the main form appears. In it there are two pre-made channels. You can go from one to the other simply by clicking on their headers. In order to write to the current channel, simple write your text in the text box below the channels and press Enter.
In order to send a personalized message to someone, simply double-click on his login name in the Users List. Then you can write your message in the second text box, and press the Send button.
The user to whom you sent this message will receive a similiar kind of form with your message. He can respond to it by simply typing his text in the same place, and clicking on the Respond button.
You can also ask if a person would like to play an Othello or a Puissance 4 game. He will get a form on which he can either accept, in which case both of you will open a form containing the game in question, or he can decline, in which case you will receive a notification of decline.
The Othello form is quite straightforward, if you know how to play Othello, which is a fantastic game.
The Puissance 4 form is also quite simple (the goal of the game is to have 4 discs of your color in a row). Simply click on any column you want to put your disc on.
These two games can be played on just one machine if you wish.
