Emotiworld

As communication via SMS and instant messaging applications became more and more popular, emoticons started playing an increasingly significant role in conversations. Traditionally made out of ASCII characters, emoticons gradually turned into stylized pictures that don't rely on text symbols anymore. Even so, the standard pictorial representations of gestures and expressions have their devotees, and Emotiworld is the perfect collection of emoticons addressed to them.

Emotiworld requires no installation but the .NET Framework is mandatory for the application to work. Its main window displays a list of buttons pointing to different categories of emoticons, most of them expressing emotions. There are happy and sad emoticons, surprised and confused ones, as well as a few animals and symbols.

Clicking on any of the buttons within the main window populates all the fields in the main window with emoticons that you can easily copy to the clipboard and paste in any chat application, email message, and so on.

Aside from the small emoticons that can be used in instant messaging applications, profiles, and comments, Emotiworld also comes with a set of large emoticons that are mostly built using ASCII art. All of these can also be copied to the clipboard and pasted into other applications, documents, and so on.

The emoticon maker is another tool Emotiworld brings to the table. You can use it to experiment with different symbols, combining them to build new emoticons. All that matters is creativity, and if you don't feel inspired, the "Random" button might be of help.

Emotiworld is nothing but an emoticon library at its core, but might come in handy if you are an emoticon fan, considering that it brings together a large collection of symbols and character combinations ready to express all kinds of emotions and face gestures. Being able to create new expressions and adding them to the original collection might add to its value in the future.
