Yahoo! Messenger Turkce Yama

Yahoo! Messenger Turkce Yama is a free-to-use patch for Yahoo! Messenger that translates all UI elements from English to Turkish. It's designed not only for Turkish native speakers, but also for students and anyone else looking to learn this language.

The installation procedure is fast and requires minimal attention on your behalf, thanks to the fact that the setup has familiar wizard steps. Although the developer intended the patch for computers running Windows XP, Vista or 7, it can actually be installed on any Windows machine with Yahoo! Messenger installed.

You should keep in mind that it's compatible with Yahoo! Messenger 11.5, 11.0, 10.0 and 9.0. An important aspect is that you have to make sure you're downloading the right version, since the patches are available in separate files for all these editions.

It might be necessary to temporarily disable User Account Control in order to set up Yahoo! Messenger Turkce Yama, as well as to restart the computer to commit modifications.

The patch gets copied to the "en-US" subfolder of "resources" in Yahoo! Messenger's installed directory. In order to remove it, you can delete its files. Evidently, it gets automatically eliminated when uninstalling YM.

After launching Yahoo! Messenger, you can select the Turkish language from the drop-down menu right before logging in with your username and password. You can easily pick another language after logging out, which especially comes in handy when your YM copy is shared among multiple PC users.

Most interface elements are now written in Turkish, such as menus and buttons. The only exception applies to YM messages, like the welcome message.

We haven't experienced any compatibility issues in our tests, since Yahoo! Messenger Turkce Yama didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages. It's easy to install for YM interested in the Turkish language.
