Flickr Downloadr

Flickr Downloadr is a freeware Windows application developed to download photos from Flickr in a few easy steps.

More like a stand-alone desktop interface for the popular online photo sharing service, Flickr Downloadr lets you choose between three different sources, namely user, group or a search engine.

If you choose the last one, the app needs you to input a search term, while afterwards it shows the results in a thumbnail-based layout.

The problem is that thumbnails are too small, so it’s hard to actually see a preview of an image, but Flickr Downloadr doesn’t comprise dedicated features to adjust the size of the thumbs.

Instead, it shows license information, along with title, media type, owner, date taken and uploaded details. A single double-click on any of the displayed photos loads the original Flickr URL in your default browser.

On the good size, you can configure the results window by showing up to 500 thumbnails in a single screen, but keep in mind that such a configuration would require much more time to load.

Flickr Downloadr is most of the time a resource-friendly software solution, but a fast Internet connection is absolutely needed to take the most out of this program. There are no other configuration options, so it all comes down to a very straightforward process.

All things considered, Flickr Downloadr is one of the apps that can bring an entire photo sharing service right on your desktop. Downloading a full-size photo is a breeze, while the interface makes the app appropriate for all user categories.
