Stream-Cloner

Stream-Cloner has been designed with the purpose of grabbing video data made available in online repositories. It detects the media file from a given link and then proceeds to downloading the content automatically.

The interface is suitable for any type of user, regardless of the computer experience. The download options are present in the upper part of the application window and allow controlling the download operation by pausing or deleting the task.

If there are multiple downloads tasks there is the possibility to view all the data amassed with Stream-Cloner, organized by type: audio, video and pictures.

After providing the link with the media you want piped in the application can show its properties sheet, which includes a brief description of the file, its size and local storage path.

It includes support for video conversion and it can also play the downloaded files with its internal player.

The default grouping of the files is helpful and it provides the possibility to add your own categories and move the items by simply dragging and dropping them in the new location.

Among the most prominent settings present in the configuration panel there is changing of the default storage path, providing a maximum amount of time to be spent on analyzing the source, automatic re-try of the download in case of failure and video .

As far as the last part is concerned, Stream-Cloner offers a choice for saving the movies as MP4 or in DVD format.

It is very easy to use and makes for a good media manager that can also play the files thanks to the built-in player.

We noticed that if there are multiple streams available Stream-Cloner does not pick the one with the best quality. In this respect, there are freebies that can do a better job, although they might not support as many websites.
