iWisoft Free Video Downloader is a program that you can use to download audio and video stream from websites. It supports the FLV, MP4, SWF and MP3 formats, among others.
The app is wrapped in a clean and intuitive interface that resembles the one of a torrent client. It supports live monitoring, which means that iWisoft Free Video Downloader can automatically detect and download audio and video stream.
All you have to do is specify the URL, output directory, filename and referrer, input a comment if you'd like, and proceed with the downloading task. The download queue shows the name, size, completed percentage, progress, speed and elapsed time for each item.
Plus, you can view only ongoing, completed or deleted files on the left side of the screen. Clicking a task reveals its duration and additional details. Another feature of iWisoft Free Video Downloader allows you to check out a history list of captured media and to select items for downloading.
From the Options screen you can alter the default save path and make the app automatically resume the in-progress download on startup and enable autorun on system boot. But you can also disable sound notifications and filter the file types and active web browsers to be monitored (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Maxthon).
The program runs on a moderate-to-high amount of CPU and system memory, is pretty responsive to keyboard commands and mouse events, quickly downloads a file and delivers media items with a good image and sound quality. We have not come across any issues during our tests. Thanks to its overall simplicity, both first-time and advanced users can quickly get adjusted to iWisoft Free Video Downloader's features.
