If you have used an email client, you already know how annoying and out-of-place spam mails are. Maybe you've clicked a link out of curiosity or even by accident, and the result of that was a continuous stream of spam entries. You might've thought that unsubscribing from a certain address feed could solve that, but no chance. SPAMfighter Standard can help you get rid of most junk, spam mail by simply putting filters in place. Still, some unwanted messages might come through even with this level of protection active, but the app's blacklist can always take care of them, even if you have to block them manually.

It would've been great to have an all-encompassing filter able to deal with any email service, but sadly, that's not the case. SPAMfighter support only Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, and Mozilla Thunderbird. If your email client is not on this list, this app cannot help.

The dashboard is comprehensive and easy to navigate around. If you are into statistics, the Overview tab will provide information about the overall number of processed emails, how many items were blocked by the app, how many were manually blocked, and even the total of minutes you've saved using the app. In addition to personal records, SPAMfighter flexes a bit with community statistics, which reach billions of both processes and blocked emails.

If you wish to manage some account details like whitelist/blacklist entries, clean certain folders or sanitize the spam directory, you can do that from the Client tab.

Just like chemical-based cleaning products, 1% of spam might get past the SPAMfigher's barrier. In that case, the blacklist is your friend. Add any address or domain you wish to erase from memory within the list to ensure you'll never be bothered. Blacklisting works not only in your interest but in the interest of the community as well, as every spam mail you report is added to a larger list that's used to improve the experience of all SPAMfigther users.

SPAMfigher might relieve some stress resulting from being bombarded with spam mail. Its simple layout and blocking abilities can place this app on your favorites list. Even if you are not using email on a daily basis, you can still have a lot to win by filtering out unwanted emails.
