Aura is more than a spam utility, it is an excellent mail checker as well as a simple and useful remote e-mail client.

Internet e-mail users often find spam (unsolicited e-mail) cluttering up their inboxes, and only the lonely are not annoyed at receiving this unwanted commercial rubbish.

Most anti-spam applications now available are based on an address recognition format, and need to use long "Bad sender" lists requiring continuous updating to fight evermore ingenious spammers.

Spammers use smart email programs enabling them to send out thousands of e-mail messages, often changing the sender address for each message or using a random address from their list as the sender address.

Aura uses a more complex and flexible approach. It starts with a default set of rules able to recognize most spam messages, but you can easily customize it for better performance.

After an initial tune-up period you will be able to avoid spam messages, but still safely receive personal and business e-mail.

As a mail checker it will alert you to new mail, and it can manage as many POP3 mailboxes as you have.

As a remote e-mail client it is easy to use, small, and you can take it with you everywhere because it can be installed even on a floppy disk (simply copy all the Aura files to a directory on a floppy disk) and you can use it from there. It doesn't use other local resources, nor does it write in your windows registry, so you can use it on other computers without an installation disturbing your computers configuration.

This is the first release available, so it may have some bugs. It may delete or damage your mail, some features are disabled, and others are not yet working quite as they should.

I cannot test it in all possible environments, so users are welcome to send me feedback about its functionality, bugs, problems, and suggestions for improvements.
