IntelliSmilies is a useful and lightweight application which sits in your taskbar and automatically replaces the smilies you type in your emails by images. When you type :p in your text for example it will automatically be replaced by . While there are around 145 smilies included by default, IntelliSmilies is also flexible enough to allow you to add your own icons and specify your own shortcuts.

This software is compatible with Microsoft Office and Outlook messaging software, Eudora and works regardless of whether the recipient has installed IntelliSmilies on his or her computer or not. IntelliSmilies also works with Hotmail and Yahoo! but requires the recipient to have IntelliSmilies installed on his or her computer. Intellismilies also supports Thunderbird.

IntelliSmilies has a quick access menu right from the taskbar that allows you to enable it and disable it as needed as well as a special shortcut (x) to display all the emoticons and add them in a point and click fashion.
