You can use QIOS Pelican to send personalized e-mail to contacts defined in external data sources.

QIOS Pelican is able to connect to different datasources like a Microsoft SQL Server or Access database, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Excel files, and custom OLEDB connections to other data sources

Using a datasource you are able to map data fields to html fields in the body, subject, attachments and recipients of the e-mail template. Custom logic can be implemented by using the Transformation module. This allows you to write logic in the Microsoft C# programming language.

Preview your e-mail batch before sending it. All datasources are applied and the preview is exactly what the recipients will get. Use the test run, everything will be tested for all the checked receivers, without actual sending the mail.

· The basic elements
You just write one e-mail and the parts that differ per e-mail are filled in, with the correct information, all automatically. All kind of information can be merged, like a person's name, a club membership expiration date or a customer's billing information.

· QIOS Pelican uses two basic elements for it's job:
a Datasource
The datasource contains the information about the group of people you want to send an e-mail. It contains a list with the e-mail addresses of the recipients, their names and all kind of other specific information.

an E-mail
The e-mail contains your actual text message and the fields that will be replaced on a recipient's basis.

· Complete control and Less risk
QIOS Pelican gives you complete control over your data, your recipients information and the content of the e-mail. Previewing and testing your mailing prevents errors that you would not like to reach your target recipients.

· Just a few steps
Between having a list of people with additional data and sending the actual e-mail, there are just a few steps involved. To execute these steps QIOS Pelican has a clean an nicely tabbed user interface.

· Is possible that the preview doesn't show the latest version of your e-mail. This is solved.
· If a company name contained an ampersand (& sign), the activation failed. This is solved.
· Filenames are checked on illegal characters.
· When pressing the 'Show glyphs' button in the Design View of the e-mail, the glyphs didn't show. This is solved.
